Cutting to 6 mm on a 1000 × 700 mm bed, and engraving on material up to 50 mm thick. Acrylic, plywood, MDF, veneer, card and paper, leather and textiles. Held to ±0.1 mm on a 0.2 mm kerf, which is what makes fine detail and tight interlocking parts possible.
The laser is for non-metals. If a part needs to go through material thicker than 6 mm it moves to the CNC router at Blackburn instead, and we will tell you which machine suits the job when we quote rather than making you guess.
Non-metals only. Send a sample if you are unsure how a material will behave.
Cast acrylic comes off the laser with a clear polished edge that needs no finishing. The everyday choice for signage faces, retail fittings and display parts.
Thin ply and veneer for model work, packaging prototypes and laser-cut detail too fine for a router bit. Cut edges char slightly, which some jobs want and others mask.
Cut and score in one pass for packaging dummies, invitations, stencils and model materials.
Cut and etch for accessories, upholstery patterns and sample runs. Synthetic fabrics seal at the edge as they cut.
The part is cut out of the sheet. Up to 6 mm, kerf 0.2 mm. Draw press fits with the kerf allowed for and interlocking parts fit first time.
Surface marking on material up to 50 mm thick: logos, text, serial numbers, hatched fills and rules. Dense fills take longer than cutting, so they carry more machine time.
A shallow line to fold on, used on card and thin board so a flat sheet becomes a box or a folded form.
No, non-metals only. For aluminium, steel or brass you need a fibre laser or waterjet, and we are happy to point you to one.
Priced by machine time, so the total length of the cut path drives the cost more than the size of the part. Dense engraving takes longer than cutting. Machine time is charged at $2 per minute, with a minimum charge of $250 per job.
AI, DXF, SVG, EPS or PDF vectors at 1:1 with closed paths, and cut lines separated from engrave areas onto their own layers. If they are not separated we will do it and confirm the intent with you first.
It goes to the CNC router at Blackburn, which cuts to 45 mm on a 2700 × 1200 mm bed. Same quote, same file, different machine.
Attach drawings, name the material, and we will come back with a price.
